Marcus de Jong (1985) studied at the ArtEZ Academy of Music in Arnhem under Lydia Kennedy. He also took lessons with Hein Sanderink and Frans van Gurp. In 2009 he completed his Master’s degree with a 9. He followed masterclasses with top guitarists, among others: Alvaro Pierri, Marcin Dylla, David Russel, Zoran Dukic.
De Jong is an active participant in competitions and festivals, also as a jury member. He has given concerts in The Netherlands, Germany, and China. He played live on Dutch radio (Radio 4 and Radio RTV Amstelveen).
Marcus de Jong teaches at the Music and Dance School in Amstelveen and at his own school: De Gitarist. Several of his students won prizes at national and international competitions.
Since 2019 he has also been chairman of EGTA NL.
Paul Bizot
Paul Bizot, currently based in Maastricht where he studies in the class of world-renowned musician Carlo Marchione, is a promising young guitarist of the new generation. He studied in Strasbourg where he obtained a Bachelor in Interpretation and was trained by Alexis Mouzourakis, Susana Prieto, Lukasz Kuropacewski, Adriano Del Sal, and Paolo Pegoraro. In addition to his studies, Bizot took master classes with Pablo Marquez, Judicael Perroy, Marcin Dylla, Hubert Kappel, and Zoran Dukic.
Paul Bizot has performed at the Format Raisin classical music festival in France and the Maison de l’Amérique Latine and Temple Neuf in Strasbourg. He values pedagogy and is a passionate guitar teacher. In 2020 he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Pedagogy in Strasbourg, after having written a dissertation on inner singing, and the phenomenon of audiation (Gordon).
Bizot is a chamber musician and contributes to the enlargement of the guitar repertoire.
